"Atomic Chapel", a brand new track from Norwegian black metallers 1349, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's new album, "Demonoir", which is scheduled for release on April 26 in Europe via Indie Recordings

"World Management and MORBID ANGEL would like to let the fans know that rumors about Pedro 'Pete' Sandoval's [drums] back surgery are, in fact, true. Pete has suffered for a long time with a deteriorating disc problem. He was in daily pain and needed to have this done. He has recently been treated by a laser back surgery specialist in Tampa, Florida. He is currently in rehabilitation and doing well.

"Pete is part of our family and the band's history and we all wish him well and a full recovery. Unfortunately, this type of injury, subsequent surgery and rehab cannot be rushed and it will take ample time for him to hopefully be back behind his drums again and out on tour with MORBID ANGEL.

"The band is moving forward on their next recording with Tim Yeung (DIVINE HERESY, ALL THAT REMAINS, NILE, HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS).

"Currently the guys are in rehearsals in Tampa putting their finishing touches on the songs for the new album, which is slated for [release via Season Of Mist] later this year, with subsequent touring worldwide."

Sumerian thrashing black metal act MELECHESH will enter Babajim Studios in Istanbul, Turkey on April 10 to begin recording its as-yet-untitled fifth album for a summer release via Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented mainman Ashmedi: "We have been looking for a place to record that can offer us an inspiring surrounding. We also decided to stay true to our spirits, to break the mold (again) and also to defy the norm, hence we will record in Istanbul.

"You see, the norm is to record westwards. It is rather customary. [However] we want to head eastwards. So, Istanbul seemed the best place since this is the city where the east and west meet, mesh, clash, blend, collide etc. and has been as such for milleniums.

"The music is definitely MELECHESH and as always, this album has its own characteristic."

NEW ENOCHIAN CRESCENT ALBUM
..Six songs in 30 minutes is one way to describe NEF.VI.LIM the new album by Enochian Crescent. The other could be that this is an album loaded with fucking great diabolical Black Metal. The album shall be released worldwide in May 2010. As a preview a free, internet-only single of the song Lyijysiipi (Wings of Lead) is released on 23 March. You shall find the wings unfurled on the band's Youtube, Myspace, Last.fm and Facebook pages.

Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH have issued the following update:

"Infernus [guitar] has just returned from rehearsals in Tomas Asklund's [drums] Monolith Studio outside of Stockholm, and the work on the follow-up album to 'Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt' is progressing as planned.

"Half the new album (which is still untitled) has been recorded in pre-production form, and work on the album will continue through the year in between touring and festival appearances, with a tentative 2011 release date.

Limbonic Art has recorded his new works Phantasmagoria. Like most older Limbonic Art plates are also quite this long. 12 songs spread over approximately 70 minutes of music. In those days, we are in the mix, but it will take further some time before the work is completed so that the disc can be sent on to the mastering and pressing. Phantasmagoria will be released through Candlelight Records in the course of 2010.

Furthermore, it noted that Morpheus Krister Dreyer is out of the band. He has in addition to their own projects also have their work in Mayhem. Vidar Jensen Daemon now runs Limbonic Art solely as a one-man band. This will naturally lead to certain changes in the musical expression. The circus / carnival-like things will more or less disappear, but that does not mean synth removed from Limbonic Art. People can expect more twists orchestral synth use this time.

This album, "Portal of Sorrow", is the last Xasthur album, period.
The honorable thing to do is to end the band and not hang around too long, like so many metal/black metal bands do. Enough is enough, right?

I'm not able to make it work anymore. I don't want to turn into one of those bands who rely on too many guests and session musicians to make people interested in their music again. Some help is fine but more than some help is very cheap and it becomes others, not the roots of the band that makes the difference and the music work. I don’t want to fall into that pattern.
The motivation and inspiration used to be there full time and now it's not there at all, not for doing Xasthur at least. It is a role or persona that I have simply outgrown. I’ve been saying I’m sick and tired of it all for too long... and now, I’m going to back it up. There are or have been literally 18,000 black metal bands; it does not matter if there's one less.

Just like in the nineties, I made a few recent attempts to put a real line-up together and it still failed; another sign that said “give it up already”.

However, I wanted to end on a better note with this 'Portal of Sorrow' album because the album that came before it, 'All reflections drained', was not up to par and I couldn't finish up with an album that I was less than satisfied with. Now, I suppose any or all goals have been reached and there is nothing more I wish to try with Xasthur and it's time to move on...

Since it would be foolish to give up music all together, I have something else to fall back on that is beginning to take shape. It's a new beginning that I'm quite excited about.

Instead, I'm going to do something different by not performing any kind of metal at all!
There's no use in trying to reinvent black metal or turn it upside down, it's all been done and in the end, it's still metal and will remain within those circles, stereotypes and boundaries no matter what. Overall, I need a bigger change in my life and with music than just trying to change metal.
There isn't anything to lose.

I would ask you to stay tuned for my next project and give it a plug but there's no need to. It's probably of no interest to you and again, it has nothing to do with metal and I'm not trying to keep any connection or ties to it.
I will not name influences, genres or anything of the sort.

Believe me when I say this decision has been well thought out for months and doesn't come out of frustration.
Something I usually hate is comebacks, reunions or reformations of bands. You can be rest assured (for even relieved) that this will not happen.

I would like to say fuck you to so many people it’s not even funny, but that would be just another way of not washing my hands and hanging around, so I won’t bother.
Instead, I would like to say thank you to a handful of people who took an interest in the music over the years and had the patience to (slowly but surely) watch it grow and develop. I'm more grateful than you think; you know who you are and I know who you are.
I'd also like to say thanks to Marissa Nadler for taking her voice to another level, to Ron for helping design the album and to Hydra Head for the hospitality over the last few years.

Limbonic Art sortira son nouvel album, intitulé "Phantasmagoria", le 24 mai prochain via Candlelight Rec. L'opus sera constitué de 12 titres pour une durée d'environ 70 minutes. La direction artistique a été légèrement revue suite au départ de Morfeus. Sur ce nouvel opus les orchestrations symphoniques réapparaîtront sous une autre forme et les parties "circus / carnival-like" seront moins présentes.

A brand new MISERY INDEX track, "Carrion Call", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's new album, "Heirs To Thievery", which is set for a May 11 North American release via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded at Wright Way Studios (DYING FETUS, SLIPKNOT, MOS DEF) with engineer Steve Wright.

Aeternus is working soon on their 6th song for their new album.
During easter, two songs were more or less completed and the composing continues.

Hopefully there will be a chance for the band to go to studio after the summer.
