Norwegian black metallers 1349 will release their new album, "Demonoir", on April 26 in Europe via Indie Recordings and one day later in North America through Prosthetic Records.

According to a press release, "Demonoir" is "without a shadow of a doubt 1349's darkest, most sinister and brutal work to date, and in this case it comes to mean that the band has gone from the utterly extreme to the genre-expanding and mindboggling. Black metal cannot, and will never be the same.

"For the band's fifth full-length release, 1349 decided to suck out the fiercest and most potent energies from every single member and surroundings, channeling it into songs that are pulsating with uncanny atmospheres, rawness and nerve-shattering intensity. The whole process of getting the material on record was like one long, exhausting black magic summoning that could not be allowed to go wrong."

"Demonoir" will be available in three different versions:

* Regular CD
* Limited digipack version with special artwork, including a bonus CD with cover versions.
* Double 180-gram vinyl in gatefold sleeve. Includes cover versions.

Aborym will enter the studio again the 19th of February.
This new opus will be a concept consisting of only one track, a harsh monolith of sickness, violence and depravity.
The album will be recorded in the Fear No One Studios owned by Emiliano Natali and will be out later this year through Season of Mist.

After spending two "intense" months at Necromorbus Studio (NOMINON, AVERSE SEFIRA, FUNERAL MIST, NEX, ONDSKAPT, MORK GRYNING, ADORIOR) in Alvik, Sweden, Swedish black metallers WATAIN have finally completed work on their as-yet-untitled fourth album, to be released by Season Of Mist on June 7.

Le prochain album de 1349 s'intitulera "Demonoir" et sortira via Indie Recordings le 26 avril prochain. D'après le communiqué ce nouvel opus est le plus brutal, sombre et sinistre que le groupe ait composé à ce jour.
L'album sera disponible aux formats normal, digipack double CD et vinyle 180 gr gatefold.

U.K. extreme metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have commenced work on material for a new album, tentatively due before the end of the year.

Due to cooperation problems, Daemon has decided to continue Limbonic Art alone. A new album is already under construction, and will be released late anno-2009.

Time for another small update on the song writing process for album number 7. Here we talked a little about how things were going just a week or two ago and now we wanna inform you that half of the album is pretty much completed, and it feels absolutely fantastic. K’s spending every awaken hour on writing the best material ever (saying anything else would be retarded, but you also know it’s true) and we are aiming for 6 or 7 songs (as always about 60 minutes of insane music) for this coming masterpiece.

In the past we have written the music for all the songs before writing lyrics and picking out who’s going to sing where, etc… This time we are completing one song at the time. Everything is going great and we can’t wait to get this bastard recorded and show the world how it’s done once again. It also seems like we might have the title for the album already as well…

When I say we are productive as fuck now I wasn’t lying… When I woke up this morning I got a pre-production from The Kid (Ruby) for one of the finished songs. And… Holy. Shit. This girl is beyond amazing, she’s pulled off some absolutely phenomenal stuff to give me an idea of what it will sound like in the end. I am amazed. And completely floored. It has all come together now with the inclusion of The Kid and it will be an absolute delight to hear J and Ruby go at it in their vocal war.

It’s also fantastic to have someone so devoted she hands over pre-productions of her ideas. I am stunned. Not surprised that it sounds this killer, but to hear what I have created with her vocals on it this early is a fucken great feeling. She is bringing the vocals to another level on all accounts, just like we have stepped up on every other level with all the changes made this year. You will see, in the meantime – just take my word for it.

This will crush and it will easily be the finest thing we have ever done.

First studio session for our next release is complete. The weekend before Winter Solstice we laid down drum tracks for 6 songs. Five of these songs shall be released as a mini cd during Spring 2010 and one on a compilation by Hammer of Hate records.
Looking forward to 2010 and the 15th year of our unholy existence we see at least a new mini cd coming up during the spring. If all goes as planned a new full length shall see daylight during the autumn months. The new song material is very ensorcelling to play and we have all the faith that the atmosphere can be recorded true once again.

I'm very glad to be able to say that the new Woods of Desolation album is now complete! 2 years have pass since the "Sorh" EP was recorded in 2008, and 3 years since the debut album "Toward The Depths" in 2007, and after "Sorh" I did not think another release would be completed, but thankfully with the help of Tim the album I wanted to create has finally become a reality.

Quite alot has naturally progressed and matured in the years leading up to this recording and to think that this album wouldn't reflect that would be erroneous. A professional studio has been used to make this record and so I would naturally expect some people to complain solely about this fact. However, what people do not realise is Woods of Desolation was never intentionally made to be a "raw black metal" project, I was simply using the tools I had at hand at the time to best complete the vision I had in mind of my own creation. Unfortunately my knowledge of recording techniques and equipment was rather poor, resulting in what has been labelled as "raw black metal" by people outside the band. I now have the ability and means to utilise a studio and improve the quality of the music for myself and subsequently better realise a vision of my music that I have held in my mind for years. I fail to understand why I should purposely make my music "rawer" and inherently, in my eyes, of lesser quality simply because of someone else's preconceieved notion of what MY OWN music should sound like. If I was to purposely try and make the production "raw" and copy previous releases, and in turn create something I did not want to create, I believe that would be a far greater injustice to myself and Woods of Desolation. Not to mention, this would go way beyond the point of why I create this music; which is to serve as a natural expressive outlet for myself when I need it to, to create anything for the sake of others would simply be wrong and would never be done with my music whilst I'm still alive. Woods of Desolation is a deeply personal creation, and this new album will not be any different.

With that said, a track or 2 from the new album will be posted here on the myspace shortly.

This album will also feature some material I originally wrote for Austere, which will no longer be used, so Austere fans may or may not find some interest in this fact.

Stuff happened for Stagnant Waters !

Zweizz (aka Svein Egil Hatlevik from Fleurety, Umoral, ex-Dødheimsgard, etc..) joined us as a lead vocalist, and came to Clermont Ferrand last month to record his parts at Aymeric's studio. It was wonderful, and totally went beyond any expectations for both us and him.

So heres the first result of this collaboration, a song named "From the breaking neck to infinity", which also features some guitar parts made by the legendary Nicolas Senac from the great Pryapisme, as well as lyrics written by the awesome norwegian visual artist Kim Sølve. Its only a premix tho.

The full lenght is coming ! More details should be unleashed soon.
