Immortal hordes!

The band has started to record the upcoming album! They will be working in both Grieghallen and Abyss studios this time.

Chad Bowar of About.com recently conducted an interview with Karl Sanders of the South Carolina-based technical death metal band NILE. An excerpt from the chat follows below.

About.com: What's the timetable for the next NILE record?

Sanders: Pre-production is April and May, then we start recording in June at Erik Rutan's [HATE ETERNAL, MORBID ANGEL] studio in Tampa. Hopefully we will finish mixing sometime in July at Rax Trax in Chicago.

About.com: Are you far enough along to be able to divulge an album title or the direction of the record?

Sanders: Gunter Ford [NILE's manager] would have my ass if I were to give away the title this soon. As far as the musical direction, we have upped the bar on the guitar playing this time around, and are very conscious about incorporating plenty of new and interesting extraneous instrumentation.

9th May : renowned demo available again !

Lupus Lounge will re-release our much sought-after demo CD "Unter dem Banner der Nordwinde" (Engl.: "Under the banner of the north winds") nearly 10 years after its original release. The new edition comes with newly mastered sound in an elaborate digipack format with a 24-pages booklet and improved, aesthetical artwork done by Robert Høyem (www.attheends.com).

Official label statement: " Shortly before the end of the last millennium, the band Drautran from Kiel, Germany, self-released "Unter dem Banner der Nordwinde", an album that has become a landmark of stormy Nordic Metal.
The lore of this album's extraordinary quality quickly made the circuit in the international scene underground, and within a short time its first press was out of stock. To meet the enormous demand for Drautran's debut album, "Unter dem Banner..." is now re-released with improved artwork and in Digipack format".

On April 15, 2009, Aspherical Asphyxia Productions proudly presents the first chapter of its new project called "Old Crown, New Spawn", a triple tribute to EMPEROR / ARCTURUS / VED BUENS ENDE. The first chapter, called "Furens", is devoted to EMPEROR. The full-length CD contains several EMPEROR covers as well as the participating bands' own material. This is a distinctive feature of this project.

Marduk will be entering the Endarker studio during May to begin the recording of their eleventh studio album. The album is set to be released in September. The release will be followed by a World tour starting out in Europe under the monicker of Funeral Nation 2009/2010. More news to be unveiled later on...

I am currently working on the new album, the composition goes well and I guess it will be finished quite soon (maybe in 2-3 months if things keep on in this way). This album will contain 5 or 6 new tracks and also the 2 tracks of the EP "Le Secret" entirely re-recorded. Looking at the new songs, I think the result will be very epic, powerful (but of course still luminous and euphorical); some of them will even have harsh vocals again.

Otherwise I plan to do some shows at the end of the year, more infos about this soon....

NATTEFROST (NATTEFROST, CARPATHIAN FOREST) and FENRIZ' RED PLANET (DARKTHRONE) have signed with Indie Recordings for the release of the split album "Engangsgrill". Together these two legendary musicians team up for a rock and roll experience, that explores the borderline between black metal, stoner and classic rock. Nattefrost, one of the most recognisable and longest serving figures on the black metal scene, has never shied away from controversy — but at the same time he has never sacrificed quality for mere sensationalism. With "Engangsgrill", he is able to show yet another facet of his musical skills, merging unexpected genres and adding his own, unique stamp.

Fenriz is best known as the drummer and lyricist of the legendary DARKTHRONE, and, together with Nocturno Culto, has been a driving force in the global metal underground for over 20 years. As well as releasing albums with DARKTHRONE, Fenriz has performed solo, and been involved with a number of bands spanning a variety of musical genres over the last years.
