A German-language studio report on the making of "Gates To The Pantheon", the fourth album by German black/death quintet NEGATOR, can be seen below. (Make sure to click on the "CC" button for English subtitles.) The behind-the-scenes clip features commentary from producer Eike Freese (GAMMA RAY, CALLEJON, DARK AGE) along with interview and studio footage from each of the members of NEGATOR.

"Gates To The Pantheon" will be released this spring in North America via Prosthetic Records. The CD will be made available physically on May 14 and digitally on April 23 to coincide with its European release through Viva Hate Records.

"Dirty", the sixth full-length album from Italo-Norwegian hard-industrial-electro extreme metallers ABORYM, will be released on May 28 in Europe and June 11 in North America via Agonia Records. The 10-track double album (cover below) will be made available in digipak, jewel case and gatefold double LP formats.

"Dirty" was recorded at the Fear No One Studios in Italy with Emiliano Natali, reprising his sound engineer role from the band's "Psychogrotesque" album, and was helmed by Marc Urselli of New York's Eastside Sound Studio, who previously worked with the likes of Mike Patton and Lou Reed. The electronic part of the album was engineered by D. Loop (KEBABTRAUME, LIMBO). R.G. Narchost (STORMCROW, DEMON'S SHADE, DROWNING ASHES) created "The Spiral Shaped Chamber" custom sounds library for the band. Artwork for the album is by ABORYM's Fabban.

The first CD of the album features new material, while the second CD features two tracks from previous albums, which have been completely re-arranged and re-recorded, covers of tracks by IRON MAIDEN, PINK FLOYD and NINE INCH NAILS, and a previously unreleased track performed by both musicians such as Agonia BV, Tamara Picardo, Samuel Heru Ra Ha MK, Hostis, Ulven, Mike Bizzini, David Cholasta, Tobias Dünnebacke, Jonathan Butcher, Jessy Lavallee, Thomas Hochstetler, Mary J. Rooks, Amanda Neilson and Mark Llewellyn, as well as several fans. The song was written by Alberto Penzin (CO2, ex-SCHIZO) and was spliced together from all the different sources.

GOD OF ATHEISTS, the Norwegian extreme metal project led by Asgeir Mickelson (SARKE, SPIRAL ARCHITECT, BORKNAGAR, TESTAMENT), is currently recording its debut album for release later in the year. The CD will feature appearances by Trym (EMPEROR, ZYKLON, ENSLAVED) on drums, Mickelson on rhythm guitar, ICS Vortex (DIMMU BORGIR, BORKNAGAR) on vocals, Carl A. Tidemann (ARCTURUS, WINDS) on lead guitar and former EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn on keyboards.

Video footage of the provisional studio where Ingvild "Sareeta" Johannesen (RAM-ZET) recorded violins for the project can be seen below. It shows the start of the song "Fountain Of Emptiness" with no bass and no vocals. Asgeir says: "It's the only really mellow part on the album." Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Sapient's Error", "Cataclysm" and "I Am God".

Raventale finishes the work over its new creation! It will be a big compilation of totally re-recorded songs from the early albums. You’ll get a totally new sound, new arrangement, unbelievable atmosphere of days passed long ago, but reborn with the fresh touch. This was the target of the whole work done for now. The compilation will be definitely interesting to the old fans, familiar with the early project works, as well as to those who have just discovered Raventale.

As you would know we’re working very hard recording our second album for Code666. Although we had some misfortune and line-up changes the last couple of years we never stopped writing music. As a result we have written more music to fit one album and some of it is quite different than stuff we opt for the follow-up of ‘Terminal World Perspective’.

We decided to record those tracks alongside the recording of the new album and we’re going to release them on a regular bases. That’s right, brand new material from CHD free of charge! Yesterday we got together after a very long time and listened to the master of 'The Prime Mover' from beginning to end. Only a few minor details came out we need to adress! The artwork needs some modifications and a some liner notes, if nothing strange happens we can send the artwork to Code666 headquarters somewhere next week.

French sowers of intelligent, distinctive, and airless black metal AOSOTH will release their new album, "IV: Arrow In Heart", on April 16 via Agonia Records. The CD is a natural improvement over the band's previous release, entitled "III", which already was "a major step forward for Aosoth in creating their own distinct sound" (Sputnik Music).

Commented the band: "We've spent such a huge amount of time on defining a darker identity, yet open to a wider range of influences. Norway's KEEP OF KALESSIN has released a new EP, "Introspection", via all digital music services, including iTunes, Spotify and WiMP.

"Introspection" is the first of several new EP's and singles that will be released throughout the year prior to the arrival of the band's new album in October. The new EP marks the transition from the old and into a new era for the band, with mainman/guitarist Arnt "Obsidian C." Grønbech now also handling the vocal duties after the band parted ways with singer Torbjørn "Thebon" Schei in March.

In addition to the title track, "Introspection", for which a video was released on YouTube just over a week ago, there are two new tracks on the EP: "Flight Of The Hatchling" and an extreme version of "The Dragontower".

Comments Obsidian C.: "The new digital era opens some opportunities for bands and releasing digital EP's makes it possible for such a diverse band as KEEP OF KALESSIN to release some tracks and new versions of tracks that would not necessarily fit on an album.

"'Introspection' is a very personal song for me and deals with some issues, I guess, many can relate to when they start questioning themselves and what's really important in their lives.

"As a musician, you're always sacrificing personal life for the band and lately I've been wondering if it's all worth it. Girlfriends, friends and family have always come second and I guess it's only natural that some priorities change as you grow older. So... basically I guess this is my midlife crisis caught on tape.

"'Flight Of The Hatchling' is our first instrumental song and shows the band from a very different side. As the title suggests, this is our own type of 'Flight Of The Bumblebee' kind of song, even though it's not a cover version, but a song entirely written by me.

"We also added a version of 'The Dragontower', which I've wanted to release for some time now. The only change to this version is in fact how the drums are playing and shows that the song is very much KEEP OF KALESSIN and now sounding more like 'The Divine Land'- or 'Ascendant'-type of songs.

"On 'Reptilian', we had mostly blastbeat songs and the reason why we chose the 'slower' version of 'The Dragontower' was simply to make it stand out and to give the album more diversity. The extreme version is the same tempo and same recordings as previously released except from the drum tracks which have been re-recorded with more of Vyl's furiosity."

Norwegian black metallers DJEVEL (Norwegian word for "devil") have re-signed with Aftermath Music for the release of their second album, "Besatt Av Maane Og Natt". The band will enter Caliban Studios on February 22 to begin recording the effort for a spring release on CD, LP and digital.

Deafheaven have revealed the cover art and track list for their new album ‘Sunbather’ which will be released June 11, 2013 via Deathwish, ‘Sunbather’ is the second full length effort from the San Francisco outfit and was recorded and engineered by Jack Shirley and the cover art was designed by Nick Steinhardt (Touché Amoré).

We Wield the Spear of Longinus, the new lyric video from Dread Sovereign, the born-dead brainchild of Primordial frontman Nemtheanga, ably backed by SOL Dubh (Primordial) on drums and Bones (Zom/Wizards) on guitar, can be seen below. The track comes off the band’s forthcoming debut 12″, Pray To The Devil In Man.

Not intended to re-invent the wheel, just to give it a good kicking in true old evil metal fashion, the blueprint is rough, raw old school doom / metal which reeks of Venom, Saint Vitus and Cirith Ungol combined with touches of late 80s early sepulchral black metal.

The Ruins Of Beverast is currently streaming "Malefica", a brand new track which will appear on the follow-up to Foulest Semen Of A Sheltered Elite. The black/doom one man band will release Blood Vaults (The Blazing Gospel Of Heinrich Kramer) through Ván Records. Not much is known at this point about the upcoming album, but stay tuned for further details about the release. For now, you can always enjoy the new song on the video below.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the plague known as Morbosidad. Since then, Tomas Stench, guided by his depraved impulses, has led Morbosidad in its revelry in all that is unholy. Although the Morbosidad catalog is vast, as always, the band’s albums feature the finest moments in the discography and the band’s fourth full-length, “Muerte de Cristo en Golgota,” is no exception. Morbosidad continues with the savage sound achieved on the recent split releases with Pseudogod, Perversor, and Witchrist. It is clear from listening to the songs on this album that the recent series of split releases reflect an evolution in Morbosidad’s sound and songwriting and was merely foreshadowing the development of something more diabolical. Expanding this sound into a full-length album, Morbosidad has sharpened its bestial assault. For years, Morbosidad has departed somewhat from the near-grindcore approach of the early albums, instead focusing and tightening the sound and this album is a culmination of that trajectory. The sharpened character of Morbosidad’s music allows for a more potent effect and permits the songwriting to stand out without sacrificing the horrific bestiality of the songs.

As you would know we’re working very hard recording our second album for Code666. Although we had some misfortune and line-up changes the last couple of years we never stopped writing music. As a result we have written more music to fit one album and some of it is quite different than stuff we opt for the follow-up of ‘Terminal World Perspective’.

We decided to record those tracks alongside the recording of the new album and we’re going to release them on a regular bases. That’s right, brand new material from CHD free of charge! Le combo hollandais de Metal extrême electro/indus Control Human Delete prépare actuellement son deuxième album qui sortira sur le label Code 666. Malgré des changements de line up importants, le groupe a continué de composer de la musqiue durant les deux dernières années, il en résulte une quantité importante de matériel, plus que pour un album. Les musiciens ont donc décidé de mettre en ligne (libre DL) les morceaux qui ne seront pas sur l'album principal, dans le but d'avoir un album alternatif en ligne en libre DL.

Control Human Delete new album 'The Prime Mover' is Control Human Delete's second album and follows up 'Terminal World Perspective' from 2007. The process of creation has been nerve-wrecking and destructive, but therefore also ended up being open minded and boundary breaking. These are the ingredients that are clearly

Yesterday we got together after a very long time and listened to the master of 'The Prime Mover' from beginning to end. Only a few minor details came out we need to adress! The artwork needs some modifications and a some liner notes, if nothing strange happens we can send the artwork to Code666 headquarters somewhere next week.

Le nouvel album de Control Human Delete est en boite, le groupe doit encore régler quelques détails mineurs sur "The Prime Mover", avant expédition au label. L'artwork et le livret seraient entre les mains de Code 666.

Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH entered Hertz studio in Bialystok, Poland at the end of February to begin recording their next album for a late 2013 release via Nuclear Blast in Europe and Metal Blade in North America.

Commented BEHEMOTH guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski: "Every piece of art is born in pain…and so is ours.
