Asked if MAYHEM has begun working on material for the follow-up to 2007's "Ordo Ad Chao", Stubberud said, "I think that we are not a traditional band in that matter, that we make an album every year and then do a tour with that. 'Cause we don't feel it's necessary to do that — we do an album when we feel like doing an album. It's true — all the guys have some other projects also; like Hellhammer [drums] has ARCTURUS, Attila [Csihar, vocals] has VOID OV VOICES and SUNN O))). It takes time to come up with some good stuff, and we don't wanna rush anything. But we are now, actually, working on some new stuff. It's very hard to say [when the next CD will be released], but we are currently working on some new material and we have a plan to do something that will kick us in the ass a little bit. It's too long a story to go into that [right now]. . . We're waiting for the right inspiration, but having a blast in the meantime, too — travelling around the world and playing."

WINTERSUN mainman Jari Mäenpää (formerly of ENSIFERUM) singer has issued the following update on the band's long-awaited second album, titled "Time".

"'Time' is going to be two albums, titled 'Time I' and 'Time II'. We made this decision simply because of few reasons:

* All the 80 minutes of material won't fit on a regular CD and we didn't want to cut anything out.
* We want you to be able to hear new material sooner and not wait any longer and we want to go on tour sooner.
* The music is very full and complex, so listening this kind of 'hard listening (not easy listening)' material straight for 80 minutes is a bit too much (even for me).
* Both albums will be approximately. nice 40 min epic packages of fireworks.
* We like the idea of releasing two albums within one year, so the band will stay more visible longer, which is important in these 'modern times.' No more years of silence for us!

"'Time I' mix is set to be finished by July, mastered in the beginning of July and released in early fall of 2012. 'Time II' will be released in 2013. Conception of album artworks, videos, live shows incl. rehearsals will keep us busy during the summer and I'll also continue mixing 'Time II' meanwhile. We'll be hopefully posting some videos and teasers during summer. Also some new live show announcements soon, so stay tuned for those!

Wintersun sortira son deuxième album, intitulé "Time I" (Track listing ci-dessus), en fin d'année 2012, via Nuclear Blast Records. Après huit ans d'attente, Jari Mäenpää nous annonce la sortie de deux albums. D'après Jari Mäenpää, cette décision a été prise, car l'ensemble du materiel ne tient pas sur un CD normal, la durée totale de la musique dépassant les 80 minutes. En ce sens, les deux albums auront une durée d'environ 40 minutes chacun, et s'intituleront respectivement "Time I" et "Time II". Le mixage et le mastering de "Time I" seront terminés en juillet. Le second volet "Time II" sortira en 2013.

The works on the new album at this point are proceeding and the conclusion is almost near. It has been a very hard work, particularly for its conception, and it still will until the opus shall be released. Now, I can only tell you that it will be entitled “Mysterium Tremendum et Fascinans”, and both music and lyrics have been conceived in the way to let the listener taste unaffected religious experiences.

The Cover art for “Greatest of Deceivers” is designed by the renowned Metastazis (Morbid Angel, As I Lay Dying, Paradise Lost, Ulver, Watain, Blut Aus Nord++).

“Greatest of Deceivers” continues the theme from "Sorrow Infinite and Darkness" (2005) based on The Vision and the Voice by the infamous Aleister Crowley. As on the previous album, ten Enochian Æthyrs are evoked through the course of the album.

Swedish death metal overlords, AEON, are pleased to unveil the details of their fourth studio offering , Aeons Black. Set to drop via Metal Blade Records on November 20, 2012, the mammoth 15-track Aeons Black was recorded at Empire Studio in Östersund, Sweden, engineered, mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Garageland Studios) and features cover art by Kristian "Necrolord" Wåhlin (Bathory, At The Gates, Dissection, Emperor et al).

Notes founding guitarist Zeb Nilsson of their latest offering of irreverence: "This is definitely our most varied albums to date; it has heavier songs yet it also has lots of fast blastbeats and double bass drumming. It's groovier this time, which I think we lacked on our last album, Path of Fire, which was fast paced almost all the way through. That and the amazing mix by Ronnie Björnström makes me feel pretty confident that this album will appeal to more people than our previous albums. And no, we have not gone softer in any aspect; it's just easier to catch with all this grooviness. It's metal right up your ass!"

The first single, title track "Aeons Black," premieres today via the band's official landing page. Comments guitarist Daniel Dlimi of the tune: "'Aeons Black' is the first song that I started to work on as we began writing for this album, and it's also one of the very last to get finished. My goal was to create a somewhat heavier, odder, not-so-typical 'AEON' song. Once happy with the musical arrangement, I handed it over to [vocalist] Tommy [Dahlstöm] to let him write some lyrics and vocal patterns for it. He managed to get it even darker and more eerie. The lyrics are all about how everything living eventually must face the inevitable, which is death. There will be no savior, no heaven nor hell… just a pitch black, silent empty void."

SITUS MAGUS ’Le Grand Oeuvre’ will definitely be an album to talk about in times.

Continuing and eventually even rather refining a certain black metal wave opened by acts like Deathspell Omega and Blut Aus Nord to name a few, Situs Magus differs from the above mentioned -although unconditionally great- masters for being rather strict to their musical path without losing themselves in too much forcely instrumental weirdness. The general chilling yet warmly dark, atmosphere has been seducing us since day#1.
