Season Of Mist has announced the signing of the innovative Egyptian-born artist Nader Sadek. Known as the designer responsible for the stage imagery on MAYHEM's 2009 U.S. tour, Nader decided to delve deeper into the metal world by forming his own project. He thus teamed up with guitarist Rune Eriksen (AVA INFERI, AURA NOIR, ex-MAYHEM), bassist Steve Tucker (ex-MORBID ANGEL) and drummer Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY) to create a death metal project under his own name. Due on May 16 (one day later in the U.S.), NADER SADEK's debut is entitled "In The Flesh" and features compositions and performances by all four artists.

Says Sadek: "My general association with death metal deals with the notion of false perceptions, and how great individuality can be smothered by the weight of an overwhelming environment. This idea is ever-present throughout all my work. Each of the players in this album played key roles in their respective bands, facing difficult challenges, and yet taking their bands to higher levels. Their talent as well as their tenacity has always intrigued me. As such, they fit perfectly in this project."

"I've been looking forward to doing this recording for months," Steve Tucker comments. "Nader does some very interesting art and I enjoy helping him achieve his twisted vision. It's rare to get to play alongside a drummer with the abilities that Flo possesses. It's a bonus that I get the opportunity to jam with professionals such as Rune and Flo. It'll be brutal."

Flo Mounier adds: "It's amazing that artists with different backgrounds can come together to create something so extreme and so dark but yet have so much fun doing so! It has been a pleasure working with Nader and Steve in the past and I'm looking forward to experimenting with Rune's unique style, I can't wait to start laying down the extreme with my boys."

Rune Eriksen states: "When first being approached by Nader to collaborate with him, Steve and Flo, I was immediately caught up by the idea of it. Not only is Nader's concept and reasons for doing this of an inspirational character in itself, but also the very thought of collaborating with musicians such as Steve and Flo seemed like an opportunity not to miss."

We here present to you the new norwegian Black Metal act DJEVEL (norwegian word for Devil).
We are very stoked to add this band to the rooster of Aftermath Music, being a band that has the capability and dedication to bring out the very best in a for the moment rather bleak Black Metal scene. The preceeding band Ljå ofcourse is a clear guideline to the sound of Djevel, still with a different line-up, taking it one step further.


Djevel was formed in june 2009 when T.Ciekals decided that Ljå would not carry on as he wanted the band to do. With a lot of material already composed for the next Ljå album he decided to put all this and more into Djevel.

Initially Djevel was supposed to be a one man act, but has slowly grown into something close to a band.
The band are now made up of T.Ciekals, who writes all the music and lyrics, and Erlend (lead vocals, Kvelertak). Bringing their diabolical talents to the recording are also Mannevond (bass, Koldbrann/Urgehal), and Anders (Drums)

The debutalbum "Dødssanger" is to be recorded in March 2011 and will be released later this spring/summer.
Coverart is done by T.Ciekals and Truls Espedal, known for his work wih Enslaved.

Swedish black metallers REV 16:8 have just signed a record deal with AFM Records, to release their new album “Ashlands” on April 8th. The Stockholm-based band is hailed as one of the most talented and promising black metal acts in the scene. REV 16:8 combine ambitious guitar work and song structures that remind of the best Dissection albums with a black-orthodox expression and spirit of acts like Watain and Ofermod.

Swedish death/black metallers UNANIMATED rehearsing again! Jojje(gui) says: “We are rehearsing again and finalized 5 news songs already. We are confindent to have a full-lenght album ready after the summer.” We are looking forward to hear the new material!

Enthroned is currently working on their ninth and yet not titled full-lenght album which will be again released by Regain Records Sweden.

This new album is called The Asthenic Ascension.
Contening 9 tracks - 53 minutes - a special track have been composed by Heimoth (Seth, Decrepit Spectre, Code). This new album is a new approach for Reverence to something more aggressive, symphonic and probably less industrialized than in the past. All drums parts and guitars have been recorded @ Drudenhaus studio, bass and voices will be recorded in the next days. The mix and mastering will be done during April by Xort @ Drudenhaus studio and Masterlab. The tracklist will be divulged very soon, so, keep in touch!

Florida-based death metal veterans MORBID ANGEL have set "Illud Divinum Insanus" as the title of their eagerly awaited new album, due on June 7 (one day earlier internationally) via Season Of Mist. Prior to the release of the album, a single for the song "Nevermore" will be out on May 16 as seven-inch vinyl and digital download. The B side will be another song from the album, remixed by COMBICHRIST.

"Illud Divinum Insanus" was recorded at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida with engineer Erik Rutan (former MORBID ANGEL guitarist and producer for such bands as CANNIBAL CORPSE and GOATWHORE). The new CD will be the band's first to be recorded without longtime drummer Pedro "Pete" Sandoval, who last year underwent back surgery for a deteriorating disc problem. Filling in for him on a temporary basis is Tim Yeung, who has previously played with DIVINE HERESY, ALL THAT REMAINS, NILE, HATE ETERNAL and VITAL REMAINS).

MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth in 2009 spoke to Revolver magazine about the band's upcoming album, which will mark the Florida-based group's first release to feature bassist/vocalist David Vincent since 1995's "Domination".

Nemtheanga about the recordings: "So how does it compare? For the first time I guess we felt a little pressure. Before 'To The Nameless Dead' we had always been a niche band, a critic's choice, but following 'To The Nameless Dead' we moved a little more centre stage.

"Expectations, my friends, expectations! Yes, it contains rabble-rousers and hooks and choruses, memorable themes and dynamics but also it has darkness in spades. It has grit, filth and foreboding. Dark sweeping tragedy as always mixed with blood stirring defiance!

"The recording, of course, was booked during what has turned out to be one of the worst winters in living memory in Europe. Leaving Ireland at -15 to travel to a -20 Wales, trudging through feet of snow, slipping on black ice and basically having our bollix frozen off for three weeks left me thinking next time I'm going to record in the Bahamas and fake all this grimness. For good measure, I got what looking back must have been swine flu recording the vocals. In fact, some I can't remember recording, I was so out of my head on painkillers and energy drinks. Suffering for your art is overrated, believe me."

Dear Ancient fans around this crazy world,

It has been a long time since we launched news from Ancient, and many of you have gotten the impression that the band laid off after the Night Visit tours.

I do admit that there has been times I believed the band had come to an end, especially after lack of inspiration for creating new music, having members practically spread around the globe and a rather tough situation with people downloading all music instead of buying cds, all in all made it look very dark and unrealistic that the band could come back and keep making albums again, and somehow I've felt it all slowly fading away.

I am glad though, to announce that Ancient is no longer dead and we are again working on a new album. It's hard to guess when we can be ready for recording, but I believe the beginning of 2012 can be the time for entering the studio, which means we can be looking at a release for spring next year.
The new material I have been working with is a bit different than the older albums of Ancient, it is after all 7 years since Night Visit and during the years I've been inspired by many various kinds of music, not just metal. But I think our fans will easily recognize our style also with the new album. It seems most of the tracks will be more melodic than the ones on Night Visit and some will also be more technical somehow, without going too far in that direction. I have a feeling this album will become something VERY special and will please our fans beyond expectations.

On a more personal note I can announce that as of lately I am now a christian ( yes, I know some of you will freak out when reading this, but hey, I am basically the same guy as before )

I am still living in Greece, and if things goes as planned I will be able to settle down here for good in about a year or two. Learning the Greek language doesn't happen over night exactly. Things and plans may change, you never know, but for the moment this is my plan. It is sometimes an uncomfortable situation with having the other band members in Italy ( Dhilorz ), USA ( Luci ) and the UK ( Nick Barker) but we will manage it, we always did in the past.

I believe we can launch a little mp3 file here some time after the summer, with a clip of a new track, to let you all get a taste of what's about to come.

There are also possibilities of some live performances later this year, but at the moment we do not have anything confirmed. Any possible dates will of course be posted on the page here as soon as they become confirmed !

At last, I will tell you that I have decided to do a change to my artistic name, my new name being simply "Zel". My close friends and some fans know already that I have been using this name for years, and in some ways I find this as a natural change, even though most of you out there will find it weird, I know.

We do look forward to come back to the scene again and give you more new music and live performances with that special touch which always made the band Ancient somewhat different to the others in the scene around us. We know there are thousands of you out there waiting for us to come back, and you will be glad to see your wait was not in vain !

Malfeitor are finally working on new material for release during 2011!

After Malfeitor split in 1994, Moberg and Parkkila recently started Blood Mortized as an old school Swedish death metal band, to recapture a small shade of Tomas Skogsberg's famous sunlight-sound.
In 2010, Moberg decided to leave the band and focus on the resuscitation of Malfeitor!

What we now will hear, is a more intense, faster and brutal Malfeitor, which influences mainly come from big acts as Immolation and Deicide, but the music retains the Swedish influences, it is possible to discern a lot OSSDM in the material.
Malfeitor currently looking for labels who are interested in releasing the new material, otherwise the material will be released without a label!

This album deals with the hard and sometimes bloody emotional fights, the Faustian struggles and mental antagonism of contradictory strivings of the human nature at the crossroads of madness. The particular songs deal with the desperate attempts to close oneself to ones own truths and contradictions and with mental meanders veiling the self-reflexive quest for the causes of our genesis.
This album is (again) no "new way" or style-changing of NARGAROTH, as many people assumed with the "Jahreszeiten" album already. Ash from NARGAROTH just doesn’t repeat his emotions and don’t creates empty song-shells. Every album he makes will be different - but always stays Nargaroth.
He created this album and all the songs included in fidelity to the ideals and values of Black Metal as well as in honouring its traditions, to which he feels committed since 15 years! To honour its legacy, to commemorate it and to remind others is his musical purpose. All the synthesizer pieces were traditionally played by hand and not, as it is common nowadays, generated by computer software programs, which create all those soulless sonic worlds today. According to Ash, synthetic sound spheres like the ones on this album have from its early beginnings been elements of Black Metal in service of the sacral and transcendent. Demonaz ancien guitariste d' Immortal sortira son premier album solo, intitulé "March Of The Norse", le 1er avril (très bien choisi !) via Nuclear Blast. Le line up studio regroupe Demonaz, Abbath, Ice Dale, et Armagedda. Vous pouvez voir le track listing et l'artwork de l'opus ci-dessus.
Trois titres démo sont toujours disponibles à l'écoute sur le myspace du groupe, ces pistes ont été enregistrées en 2007 aux Soundsurf studios à Bergen en Norvège.

Ça ressemble à un mix entre du Immortal et les titres lents d'Hypocrisy, déjà les démos ont un son complétement lisses, on peut donc s'attendre au pire sur album (enfin je m'avance un peu...). Je ne vois pas trop l'intérêt du projet, encore un gouffre à fric.

Pawel "Paul" Jaroszewicz a décidé de quitter Vader pour raison familiale.
Il finira tout de même d'enregistrer "Welcome to the Morbid Reich", le nouvel album des Polonais, et prendra part aux concerts de mai à juillet.
Le batteur sera remplacé par un talentueux batteur anglais de 21 ans du nom de James Stewart, qui a joué avec Divine Chaos.

Swedish black metallers MARDUK have finished recording three songs for a new EP, "Iron Dawn", that will be released in North America on the same day as the band's appearance at the Maryland Deathfest on May 27 (May 30 in the rest of the world via Regain Records). So the first chance to get your hands on the EP will be during the festival and the group's upcoming "7 Bowls Of Wrath" tour (taking place late May/early June).

According to a press release, the songs included on "Iron Dawn" differ from the concept that is being created for the next full-length album. Therefore this EP will be made available as a special treat for all MARDUK legionaries out there.

Florida-based extreme metal veterans HATE ETERNAL will release their new album, "Phoenix Amongst The Ashes", on May 10 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded HATE ETERNAL mainman Erik Rutan's Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida and contains the following track listing:

Swedish black metallers REV 16:8 have just signed a record deal with AFM Records, to release their new album “Ashlands” on April 8th. The Stockholm-based band is hailed as one of the most talented and promising black metal acts in the scene. REV 16:8 combine ambitious guitar work and song structures that remind of the best Dissection albums with a black-orthodox expression and spirit of acts like Watain and Ofermod.

Le groupe suédois REV 16:8 vient de signer un contrat discographique avec le label AFM records. Leur nouvel album, intitulé "Ashlands" enregistré au Necromorbus studio, sortira le 8 avril prochain.
Le premier album "Grand Tidal Rave" sorti en 2009 est plutôt bien fichu, donc un groupe à suivre!
