Finally, a reissue of ODIUM's "The Sad Realm of Stars" album is on its way.
Blood Music is incredibly excited to announce the very, very, very long-awaited re-release of Odium "The Sad Realm Of The Stars" on limited CD and vinyl. One of the best symphonic black metal albums in history. And *definitely* the best black metal album cover in history.

We are working in direct connection with Samoth (guitarist of Emperor), who originally released this record in 1998, and in conjunction with the band, which includes Sechtdaemon of Emperor, Zyklon, Myrkskog, 1349, and Dimmu Borgir.

The limited release will come in 2013 with a brand new audio overhaul/remaster and bonus material.

THAW among our graves……!

Black Metal Experimentalists from Sosnowiec, Poland, have been add to our ghastly roster!
Their “s/t” album is currently under macabre dressing and will be released in March! Check out the song “Ancestors” from the album in our player or the band’s own Bandcamp!

Differently than many other similar obscure projects, THAW makes a difference because they are not just another home-based Apple recorded session: they are real, though and smokey… with a violent hobbie: to reduce amps to ashes… Thaw have shared stage with acts like Furia and Blindead in homeland Poland and already have quite a good bunch of memorable shows at their backs!

Greek extreme metal veterans ROTTING CHRIST have set "Do What Thou Wilt" as the title of their eleventh full-length studio album, due on March 1, 2013 via Season Of Mist. The band spent more than four months at Deva Soundz studios in Athens crafting what it says "may be its darkest and more mystical and occult outcome ever." The CD was mixed by Jens Borgen (AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA, OPETH) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

In a recent interview with RockOverdose.gr, ROTTING CHRIST mainman Sakis Tolis stated about the band's new CD, "The album was recorded entirely by me, except, of course, the drums which were taken care of by my brother."

Swedish viking/black metallers THYRFING have completed work on their new album, "De Ödeslösa" (English translation: "The Fateless") at Fascination Street studios in Örebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren (OPETH, PARADISE LOST, WITCHCRAFT). The CD is a natural improvement over the band's previous release, entitled "III", which already was "a major step forward for Aosoth in creating their own distinct sound" (Sputnik Music).

Commented the band: "We've spent such a huge amount of time on defining a darker identity, yet open to a wider range of influences. Those tracks still haunt us, as delivering them was a painful and excruciating experience, and left some of us even physically wounded... Which gives that album even more of a spiritual value, as it involved a form of sacrifice." They added: "This fourth full-length release is without a doubt a great step forward for us in term of music writing, and sound."

Candlelight Records has set ab April 23 North American release date for "Withdrawal", the third album from black metallers WOE. Produced by vocalist/guitarist Chris Grigg and mastered by Colin Marston, the CD features seven new songs with a running time of 43 minutes. It is the first new material by the band since 2010's widely regarded "Quietly, Undramatically". "Withdrawal" reunites the band with artist and longtime friend Justin Miller.

2013-02-22 00:00 - New York death metal legends, IMMOLATION, have announced Kingdom of Conspiracy as the title of their upcoming ninth full-length album. The follow up to their 2010 release, Majesty and Decay, will be released on May 10 in Europe both digitally and physically via Nuclear Blast. The album was recorded at Sound Studios in Millbrook, NY with longtime producer Paul Orofino, and mixed and mastered once again by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION).

To summarize the story, Varg is thinking and discovers bit by bit what happened before. A kind of journey in reverse through time and in thought, to prehistoric time (about 30 000BC), up to a previous life when he was a little boy. Through what he lives again in this little boy, he understands the meaning of certain essential rituals of that prehistoric time, that still have a major influence on modern habits.

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON will enter the studio in February to begin recording their new album for a tentative September release. The band will premier sme of its new material during an appearance at this year's edition of the Inferno festival, set to take place March 27-30, 2013 at the Rockefeller, John Dee, Rock In, Blå, Unholy, Victoria and Revolver venues in Oslo, Norway.

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have completed recording the drums for their new album for a tentative September release. Takes are currently being selected and the band will soon be adding more guitars and heading towards the most exciting part of the process.

Reactivated British extreme metal legends CARCASS have set "Surgical Steel" as the title of their first studio album in 17 years, to e released later this year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. The band's first studio outing since 1996's "Swansong" will be the first to feature new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and also features guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen. The CD was produced by Colin Richardson, who has previously worked with FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE.

CARCASS guitarist Bill Steer tells U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine: "I found myself playing riffs that sounded like CARCASS. This was after the band had finished the whole reunion cycle of shows and festivals. So, officially, I would have been playing with other bands and stuff, but for some reason whenever I picked up a guitar at home I was coming up with riffs that sounded like CARCASS. I got on the phone to Jeff [Walker, bass/vocals] and said, 'We could have a crack at writing a couple of tunes and seeing if they're strong enough and take it from there.' We also agreed if it didn't sound like carcass or have that kind of vibe to it, we would just drop it. So that was the thing, we got together and started working on some stuff and just immediately got the excitement back very quickly."

Adds Bill: "It definitely sounds like CARCASS. I think we just generally by accident captured the flavor of past music that we have done and you can't help but push it forward. We have really been creative and when you are looking at things like guitar harmonies, it's way more adventurous on this record. It's not just parallel harmony like we did in the past, things branch off in different directions.

"A lot of what is happening now is based on rhythms rather than actual riffs. We were discussing this a lot during record sessions about how the riff is almost dying or dead already. People spend a lot of time chugging on the bottom string [but] that's a rhythm, it's not a riff. We can't write a song, never mind an album, without it being choc-full of riffs."

States Jeff Walker: "I'd like to feel like we are giving CARCASS fans what they want again. I'm a realist and I think Bill has realized and Dan know what people like about CARCASS. We're definitely delivering."

Indie Recordings has announce the signing of BLOOD TSUNAMI, the Oslo, Norway-based thrash metal band featuring drummer Bård G. Eithun (a.k.a. Faust; SCUM, ABORYM, EMPEROR). The band's new album, "For Faen", will be released on March 8 in Norway, March 15 in Germany and Austria and March 11 in the rest of Europe.

The first video, "Metal Fang", can be seen below. The clip was made in two days and filmed with an iPhone5 by Kjell Ivar Lund.

According to a press release, "For Faen" "shows a band that has stripped their metal to the bone. Harder, meaner, dirtier and way more aggressive! This album is a relentless sonic beating. The songs are thrown at you, one by one, with an infernal speed that threathens to rip off chunks of flesh from your whole upper body. Rampant dogs is jumping out of your loudspeakers, daggers and bullets comes at you like a wall of horizontal rain. This is metal the way it was meant to be. Totally vicious and utterly dangerous! 'For Faen' is a monster of an album that will break your legs off by the knee and use them to beat the skull straight off your spine. You are in for some sickening tales from the dark side of humanity.
