Pine-scented black metallers Fen have wrapped up work on their third full-length album, while also renewing their contract with Code666 Records for a further three records.
The forthcoming album will be called Dustwalker; a release date and more info will be released very soon. Frontman, The Watcher, speaks exclusively to ZT; "Dustwalker" is a starker, more focused musical expression than the previous Fen releases. With this new album we have distilled the key elements of our sound into a journey through abandonment and dislocation – both from the self and the material world.”
Regarding the contract renewal, The Watcher states; “We have been happy with the way we’ve been treated by Code666 in respect of the first three albums, and were impressed by the enthusiasm that the label has always shown for Fen and the faith they have placed in us, so it was logical for us to continue a relationship that was obviously working well”.

Details of the third full-length album from UK Progressive Black Metallers FEN have been announced today. The seven-track album “Dustwalker” is set for release on the 21st of January on Code666 Records, and will be appear in both CD format and as a limited edition Clambox which will feature a bonus track and include a pendant with the band’s distinctive logo. Artwork for the album is by the FEN’s bass player Grungyn. Track listing for “Dustwalker” as follows:

It took a while and it has some valid reasons the huge delay gained with the -supposed- September releases. We dont want to share melancholy in an already depressed world, therefore we keep the whining in our house and shoot the facts then!

We have four releases in the manufacturing process now, plus the 2nd edition of DARKSPACE “Dark Space -I”, so that we can secure them a 2012 release anyway as planned, with a rather accurate perspective to have them all before November has gone. See details here below.

Additionally in production we have the following goodies: DARKSPACE “Dark Space -I” T-SHIRT (printed black on black and displaying the vinyl back cover symbols), SHINING/MONUMENTUM Split 7″ (delivery date not available yet because of the extra-long production times now required by the vinyl printing factories). We will soon after unleash also news and/or details regarding the next steps after the forthcoming -much anticipated- November releases: these include a new GRIM FVNERAL album, a new album with NAHAR , a 7″ of NOCTURNAL DEPRESSION and the next step in the DARKSPACE albums vinyl releases (please see dedicated posts about them).

French black metallers AOSOTH are working on the follow-up to 2011's "III" for a March/April 2013 release through Agonia Records. The as-yet-untitled CD will consist of seven new tracks with a running time of 55 minutes.

Commented AOSOTH guitarist BST: "We have entered the infamous Bst Studios once again to work on our fourth album, and we are confident that this will be our most elaborate, twisted, and sick release so far. Those who did not like the direction we took with the previous record probably will hate this one even more. We're on the second day of tracking guitars now, and things are going smoothly, so to speak."

It has been over three years since the completion of the second album. Since then, no words have been said concerning audio to follow.

As always - determined to reach further, ascending higher and descending even deeper.
As always - prepared to announce the discontinuation of Valkyrja if all past deeds could not be exceeded.

A discontinuation did however not seem to be the action to follow. The silence that has covered the question whether a sequel to "Contamination" would
ever surface or not has been far from present in our hearts, as a work of monstrous proportions has been going on since the second album was named and announced. Three years of overwhelming work whose entity has grown into a sick and twisted piece of violence, now finally ready to be put onto tape.

The manifestation of the third album will begin during the last days of October, once again delivered by the hands of Tore Stjerna in his Necromorbus Studio.

These lines are the first, last and only ones to be written concerning the third weapon until we reveal its final form with all relevant information.

Greek extreme metal veterans ROTTING CHRIST have set "Do What Thou Wilt" as the title of their eleventh full-length studio album, due on March 1, 2013 via Season Of Mist. The band spent more than four months at Deva Soundz studios in Athens crafting what it says "may be its darkest and more mystical and occult outcome ever." The CD was mixed by Jens Borgen (AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA, OPETH) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

In a recent interview with RockOverdose.gr, ROTTING CHRIST mainman Sakis Tolis stated about the band's new CD, "The album was recorded entirely by me, except, of course, the drums which were taken care of by my brother."

Century Media Records has announced the signing of Swedish black metallers WATAIN. The band's much-anticipated fifth studio album will be made available next year via His Master's Noise in collaboration with Century Media.

Commented WATAIN: "We are writing this from a magical place of desolation and desert-like vastness, where wondrous things are at this very moment taking place. Things that will come to colour our world as well as yours in the strangest hues for many years to come. We are entering this new chapter of WATAIN with a will and confidence to make it the most diverse and rememberable so far. Dear friends,

it has always been clear that also LUNAR AURORA will end some day. And this autumn we felt that it is time to lay the band to rest. We came to that decision for various reasons, the two following may be the most significant. On one hand our imaginations of future musical projects are difficult to reconcile with LUNAR AURORA, on the other hand we feel that LUNAR AURORA is out of tune with these times. We have never been people that speechify, so we won't make a big deal out of that, either.

It have been 18 great years and for that we want to say a big "THANK YOU!" to the people who have been with us during those years. Especially the fans as well as the bands we played with or did projects with. Not to forget the magazines, distributors, concert promoters, without whom publicity would not have been possible. Our label partners Frank Stöver, Andreas Lacher and Tom Wahl we owe deep thankfulness for their energy and trust.

With deep gratefulness we think of our bandmates Sindar, Nathaniel, Profanatitas, Biil, Skoarth and Bernhard Klepper for all they did for LUNAR AURORA with great dedication.

Although there won't be a new LUNAR AURORA album anymore, we will make sure that the long out of stock albums "... of stargates...", "Elixir of Sorrow" and "A haudiga Fluag" will be available through COLD DIMENSIONS within the next 1-2 years.
