French black metallers MERRIMACK will release their new album, "The Acausal Mass", on June 22 via AFM Records. The CD was once again produced by Tore Stjerna and Sverker Widgren at Necromorbus Studio (WATAIN, DESTRÖYER 666, OFERMOD, PORTRAIT, UNANIMATED, SETHERIAL) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Legendary italian industrial-post-black metallers ABORYM have inked a worlwide deal with Agonia Records.

The first statements of the singer/bass player Fabban: "I know this label very well. We decided to sing up with Agonia Rec exactly because we need to be followed and supported in a more careful and precise way, something that is sometimes quite hard to have if you're part of a major label with hundreds of other bands. There's a crisis in the air, especially in the music industry, reason why we're betting everything on quality. It's been awhile. The new website is now online and we are more active than ever. We've gone through some line-up changes since Iain Huntley (Rapture) and Petri Mäkipää (Ghoul Patrol) joined the band. We are currently shaping up for our next gigs.

Few words about the following mcd. By defining the band's status the name of this ep. will follow the same thematics with 'Reactivation' ep. Hence the name 'Transition'. The mixing will be handled by Max "The Snacks" Kostermaa (Impaled Nazarene, Throes of Dawn).

DARKSPACE have finally mastered ‘Dark Space -I’ and have already switched back working on ‘Dark Space IV’. We dont announce anything but we have clear expectations to be put into conditions to release “something” from them in Spring. The band is confirmed playing at Hellfest 2012 in June and will play in Canada after the summer!

Niklas Kvarforth's SHINING has debuted a track from the recently announced EP "Lots Of Girls Gonna Get Hurt", which contains cover songs from KATATONIA, KENT, IMPERIET and POETS OF THE FALL. The first song from the four-track effort to be released is a version of KATATONIA's "For My Demons".

While KATATONIA is an internationally recognized name, KENT and Thåström's IMPERIET are relatively unknown outside of Sweden, where they are two of the country's biggest names, and POETS OF THE FALL is a Finnish band with a substantial following in their own country. Cover art is by Pauline Greefhorst.

Commenting on the decision to release an EP of covers, as well as on the choice of material, SHINING's frontman and founder Niklas Kvarforth had this to say: "In no way should this EP be seen as a new direction for SHINING, and it is absolutely no indication of what you can expect from our upcoming eighth album. Like most musicians neither myself, nor the rest of the band, restrict ourselves to listening to only one genre of music. We all have eclectic tastes, and finding ourselves with some spare time in the studio, we recorded a total of six covers, and decided to release four of them. This EP simply represents some of the artists and music that we like. We know that those fans of SHINING who limit themselves to a narrow musical spectrum will hate the album, but that really is of no concern to us."

Having recorded a Demo and an EP up to now, Order of Orias (featuring current and ex members of Denouncement Pyre, Funerary Pit and Ignivomous) from Australia are most probably unknown to many, at least in the European scene. ”Inverse”, their 50 minutes long debut album; absolutely has the potential to change that. Indie Recordings has announced the signing of the Norwegian black metal band BLODHEMN.

BLODHEMN saw the light of night in 2004 as a one-man black metal band formed by Invisus as an outlet for his need to spread his music and lyrics. The first demos raised a lot of eyebrows in the underground scene in 2008, and the critically acclaimed EP "Brenn Alle Bruer" from 2010 made it clear that Invisus and BLODHEMN were very serious about what they were doing. BLODHEMN became an underground phenomena, and also earned a reputation as a stunning live band which amongst others resulted in them being handpicked to play the Norwegian industry festival By:Larm in 2011 at the main stage. The title track from "Brenn Alle Bruer" was also played a lot on national rock radio.

Enslaved have already recorded a new album and have also signed a record deal with the world’s largest metal label. Lydverket got an exclusive visit to the studio when the band made the finishing touches on their new baby. You can also hear a clip from one of the new songs.

"I've always said that... Right now we're good musicians, and we could easily fabricate anything. Metal Blade would have the record fucking in three months — if we want that — but it wouldn't be honest. It wouldn't be 'us.' I just tear out a piece of my heart and soul and my skin and I just fucking put it into my art. Otherwise it makes no sense to me. So this process sometimes takes time and energy and experience, and I'm collecting these experiences by now. But you can be sure that the next BEHEMOTH album is coming out next year; that's for sure. I just can't say if it's before or after summer, but we [will] start working [on it] intensively this summer."

Swedish black metallers DARK FUNERAL have inked a three-album deal with Century Media Records.

Comments DARK FUNERAL guitarist and founding member Lord Ahriman: "Our bad luck with labels in the past has for sure been very frustrating. So it is with great pleasure to finally be able to turn the page, move on and start a new dark chapter in the DARK FUNERAL saga, as we join the great Century Media family. Century Media has more than enough proven to be a stable and highly professional label. And we are totally looking forward to this new cooperation, which I'm sure will prove to be very satisfying and successful for both parts. Hail the goat!"

Adds Jens Prüter, head of A&R at Century Media in Europe: "I always respected DARK FUNERAL for their endurance and integrity. They've gone through some hard times, but never gave up and also never gave in to compromise on their musical and aesthetic vision. Almost 20 years after their formation, it's still the same powerhouse of unmerciful black metal and the new lineup is stronger and more focused than in the past. The new lineup of DARK FUNERAL — featuring the group's latest additions, vocalist Nachtgarm (NEGATOR) and bassist Zornheym — made its live debut on the Sweden Rock Cruise. The ship Tallink Silja Galaxy set sail from Stockholm, Sweden on October 6, 2011 and made a round trip to Turku, Finland before returning to Stockholm 23 hours later.

DARK FUNERAL last year parted ways with Regain Records. Lord Ahriman stated at the time, "Time went by and we didn't see any future whatsoever to continue to work with them."

Greyhaze Records has announced the signing of WARFATHER, a devastating new death metal unit conceived by ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker.

In a statement on what metal fans are to expect from WARFATHER, Tucker stated: "This is my new band; it will be my main focus.... it is my kind of death metal."

Having been known for his vocal and bass skills in all of his previous acts, while still holding down vocal duties here, Tucker has moved on to guitar with this project. "I have always played the guitar and I think now is the time for me to make the move. I think doing solos and extra guitar parts will allow me to express myself in a whole new way!" he said. Also on guitars is Armatura, formerly of Cincinnati-based death metal band DOMINION. Recruited to the drum kit is Deimos, a death metal veteran currently playing in the band TEMPLE and also having played with bands such as SEVERE TORTURE. The bass is dispatched by Nick McMaster (KRALLICE, NADER SADEK, CASTEVET). Additional guitar contributions will be tracked by friends of WARFATHER, which include many notable death metal stalwarts; full details will be announced shortly.

WARFATHER is currently in the final stages of tracking the yet-to-be-titled album, with mixing to take place immediately after. Tucker himself is producing the entire release, as he did for the 2011-released NADER SADEK album "In the Flesh", which Tucker also performed on. The artwork is in the final stages as well, and will be unveiled shortly, along with the details on the album, which is being slated for release this fall. Upon the CD's release, WARFATHER will take their battle to the highways of the planet on tour in support of the album.

After starting out as vocalist/bassist for death/thrash act CEREMONY, Steve Tucker moved on to handle bass and vocals on MORBID ANGEL's infamous "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic" LPs. In 2009, Tucker was recruited to take part in the NADER SADEK album "In The Flesh" for release through then-brand-new label Greyhaze Records, and licensed to Season of Mist Records. The project also featured Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY), Rune Eriksen (MAYHEM, AVA INFERI) and more. During this time, Tucker struck up a great relationship with Greyhaze Records, and together they decided to bring the reality of WARFATHER to fruition.
